CROP Hunger Walks are community fund- raising events sponsored by Church World Service (CWS), an international relief agency. The 2010 CROP WALK will be Sunday, October 17. The starting point will be at First Congregational UCC (1609 University Ave) at 12:45. We started there last year and it was a great location. You will hear more details in church on October 3 and will be able to start signing up on that day. Put it on your calendars and save the date.
To participate, pick up a sponsor packet from the church office and start getting people to sponsor you. If you aren't able to walk that day, keep your ears open for the Bashford people who will be looking for sponsors. Last year we had a nice, large group and we hope to have that again this year.
25% of the money raised is distributed to local food pantries (Bashford included) through Second Harvest Food Bank. Other agencies to receive funds are The Sun Prairie Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels.
